On behalf of Winchester City Council, we were delighted to host a Career Taster Session for local jobseekers.

The event was opened by Cllr Rob Humby, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Eloise Appleby, Assistant Director of Economic Prosperity.  The following companies were represented at the event and offered local jobseekers a wealth of employment opportunities in the catering industry:

Winchester Coffee Roaster

Hit Training and Eastleigh College provided details on catering courses and apprenticeships.

And Kate Hughes of the Cook Academy ran a cookery demonstration at which all the jobseekers had a chance to put the catering skills to the test – the results were delicious!

To round off, Grant Callaghan, General Manager from Hotel du Vin gave an insightful presentation into his career in the catering/hospitality industry.
